Welcome to the revamped Social Justice Spotlight!

This is a directory of information pertaining to various social justice causes. This site was originally made on Carrd, then moved to the admin's personal NeoCities page while in a transitory period. We've ultimately decided to move it here, to its own NeoCities page, for archival and ease-of-access purposes.

DISCLAIMER: Some resource links may not work! We try our to remove broken links, but may not notice them. Likewise, these resources are vetted to the best of our ability, however they may not always be up-to-date or the best source for information. If this happens, or you'd like to share resources, please feel free to reach out to us via the team's Proton address!

About Us

The Social Justice Spotlight is run by a team of activists from various backgrounds who want to help people, plain and simple. Many members wish to remain private due to security concerns.

ADMIN - JASON J. SHEPARD | They/It/Xe/Pup & Es/Xier auf Deutsch; Neutral & Masculine Honorifics

Jason is a white, disabled, neurodiverse, adult queer man from Florida. They have held a long passion for helping others, and as such began this concept on a Carrd website a few years ago toward the late 2010s/early 2020s. Since then, this project has evolved and taken many forms of life.

Jason is the primary member of the group, working primarily on site updates/upkeep, as well as reaching out via and responding to emails at the team's designated Proton address. You can find them in a variety of places, but they host their own NeoCities as well:

Our Mission

Our mission is to curate a hub dedicated to various social justice issues, such as queer rights, decolonization, and community building. We here at the Social Justice Spotlight team strongly believe that establishing a connected, "woke" community is one of the first and most vital steps to achieving good in this world. No one figure, politician or otherwise, can solve our problems, and thus we must uplift the voices of those most impacted by the world's injustices. As such, we believe:

  • Intersectionality is crucial to any and all movements. We are not free until everyone is free.
  • Privilege is not something exclusive to rich, white, cishet men. Members of marginalized communities can hold privilege over others, and we must hold ourselves accountable in order to achieve social change.
  • Every person is worthy of dignity and respect. There is nothing to be gained from exclusionary politics, and thus we believe in total political, social and economic equity.
